O'Hearn isn't one of the best rooks in the league he's aweful. Beat him wide everytime or anyone with good hands can make him look just retarded. Far from the top

Just for the record Welsh was not cut by Stratford.... He was offered a position with both Stratford and Waterloo but thought that Waterloo would be a better fit for his style of game.
This was Waterloos gain and Stratfords loss

This is very true...Stratford really could have used Ohearn's help on D Could this have been another oversite by the great Dennis Flanagan?

mercer is terrible hes a fat plug and welsh is also doing nothing in the league right now either stratford cullitons do need some help but everyone still knows that they have the best 2 rookies in the league in buck and warda. dennis should get some experience out there but up front things are fine. defence is becoming a question again for the team

rob mercer 7 points in 21 games and you think he's the best rookie in the league.. far from it when the leading rookie who is buck is at 24 points in 21 games. Mercer may have a bright future but right now i think buck and neily are the best two rooks

agreed wit guest, mercer does have alot of talent for a 16 year old but has been unable to finish all the time on his opportunites, he does have loads of talent but need ssoem time to mature, right now there are some better rookies thorought the league tho

agreed jrbfan neily and buck are racking up the points and getting the ice time they deserve. mercer is worth watching if east will start giving him the ice time he may put up some numbers hard to beleive hes undrafted.

yah agreed locke is really bad i agree with jrbfan i think that buck and neily are the best two rookies in the league and will be the two fighting for the rookie of the year come seasons end...they are both getting the ice time they deserve and will continue to play while they produce... good luck guys

locke is a great player....3rd round pick of the petes...could be playing for them but they have too many returning players that its impossible to crack that lineup.

he may be a 3rd round pick but the kids made of glass and doesn't even know what a corner looks like if hes a 3rd round pick he should be there now they can sighn 4 89's they must have sen the same thing hes horrable

Post by guest on Nov 16, 2005 9:35:00 GMT -5
he is signed with them ur only allowed 2 89's in any junior league per team this year

no guest your wrong 4 per team in the ohl, 2per team jr a&b, and 1 per team jrc&d iam a hawks fan but these guys are right this kids bad one of the few weak links wehave thaTS why he doesnt get much ice

the ruling in the OHL is that you are allowed four 16 year olds, you can have only 4 if you have 2 of your picks that come from the second round, if the team only had 1 pick in the second round then you could only have three 16 years olds, JR. B and tier 2 you are allowed two 16 year olds.

agreed locke is a terrible pick up for the winterhawks conisdering i herd they let mercer go to elmira and decidied to sign locke instead as one of their 89's, i don't think the kids realizes there are corners on the ice, it boggles my mind that he was a third round draft pick and cambridge opted to sign him instead of mercer who for some reason is undrafted , also agreed that neily and buck are in the race for rookie of the year

agreed buck is sick and neily is by far the best 89 in the league

Post by insider on Nov 19, 2005 12:33:52 GMT -5
i don't kno if he is by far the best 89 but is certainly the best scoring 89 in the league, and i can't stand the winterhawk member always trying to push locke on as one of the best 89's he is terrible, i don't think the kid has 1 registered hit all year and if he is suppossed to be a scorer where are his numbers? and if what jr.b fan sed was true that they let mercer go for locke then i argree that that was a terrible decision on their part!

Loke and mercer head to head sunday night was no contest locke was invisable. winterhawks dominated and put elmira in there place but mercer was in on a lot of elmiras chances and threw a lot of checks locke couldn't skate away fast enough. bad choice for cambridge taking this kid should be playing midget hockey.

Hey gang, Neily's shining now that he's been moved to centre between Johnson and Benesch. Great move those guys have combined for 17pts in three games. Neily should be rookie of the year since he's a '89 coming out of midget hockey while Buck, an '88 played Junior last seaon in Lucan. Keep it going Zaney.

It's tough for Lock to get ice time. Look at Cambridge's first two lines, they are awesome, 4 of the players are in the top 10 in scoring and the rest are top 20. It's tough for a young guy to get alot of ice with a team full of talent.

enough about these four (locke, neily, buck, mercer) they are all doing well enough and any one of them can be rookie of the year depending on how the rest of the season goes. Lets talk about rookie defenceman and goaltenders.
