not Orangeville's best effort. Owen Sound was desparate for hte win and it showed. Strange team in Orangeville. Never know which team is going to show up. The team that lost 6-2 last night or won 7-2 the week before.

Looks like the MWJB is losing these 2 teams for next season. Doesn't look good for Greys in their efforts to move to the Port and O'ville has requested a move to Tier 2 to help in their efforts to build a hockey program.

It's not that they can't compete in B but they are constantly losing players to A. Better guys who play regular shifts and contribute get lured away to A where they usually sit on the bench. Go A, better chance to keep those players, stay B and lose them anyway. Good business decision. Rest of the B leagues had better get off their asses and do something. A number of different approaches have been offered by teams to help, but so far nobody seems to care. They "old guard" of B hockey are stuck in the past. They don't want O/A, they don't want to raise the number of imports or even do away with imports all together just like Tier 2. They don't want to go outlaw and force the OHA's hand into addressing the problem. The problem of the talent drain felt by all B teams is becoming a bigger problem every season. With the model taking full effect and no 16's after next season the B looped will be doomed if an action plan is not implemented soon. Either attack Hockey Canada to allow 16's to stay at their current level or have O/A to open up the top end. The OHA seems indifferent to the B concerns, as they are talking about re-aligning the B, C-D loops possibly as early as next season. Teams that have a storied past in the world of B hockey are in all likelihood about to become a part of history if some-thing's not done soon. O'ville reacted pro-actively by going Tier 2, other teams might be allowed to follow but don't count on it. It's not too late fans of B hockey. Make your voice heard. Stand up, be counted. Make your team's accountable to you, the paying customer. Find out what can be done and what they intend to do. Or don't and become a fan of the "remember when club".

Geographically O'ville was in a tough location. On the fringe of both the B territory and Tier II territory. With the exception of OS I think the B loops are fairly safe. Some players will be lured away by Tier II and Junior C for various different reasons. The core teams in the Waterloo region have the benefit of kids coming into school in Guelph and Waterloo. The same can be said in the Niagara region.
Discussing imports is always an issue. Waive the import rule and the rich clubs clearly benefit.
I don't like any OA rule. Make it 20 or 21 right across the board. As far as 16 year olds go most end up siting on the bench. In the big picture move the OHL draft to 17 and the NHL draft to 20.
Just my thoughts???

Yep probably the best course of action would be raise the age limit to 21 across the board. If that's the course of action best get at it. Age limit is the only agenda that the leagues can control and impliment with the approval of the OHA. Forget the draft cause it will never happen.
