Sure looks to a few of us old timers that Montour is really trying to buy the Cup

In the final analysis you can buy players but you must win cup. Do you think for a minute that there is no upgrade activity taking place elsewhere?

Everybody and his brother is out there trying to ice the best team they can. Every team at crunch time (now) is trying their best to secure that last piece of the puzzle.

There may have been a time when jr hockey was for fun but today it is a business. Montour is a business man and is just doing what is necessary. If we don't like it it's more likely because our team can't afford to do what he is doing, and there is a little envy going on. If Brantford wins it all it will be because they did what all teams do only on a greater scale.

The major problem I see with it all is that the teams who can afford to buy greater success get richer and the teams who cannot get poorer. Its hard to get fans in the rink when your team is consistently getting beat by 5 or more goals. It doesn't matter what town your in, one thing remains the same; people want to come see their team win, not lose. It hurts the game no matter what sport or what league it occurs in. Of course there are those fantastic times when it backfires like the New York rangers of the late 90's early 00's... lol... well over a hundred million dollars in payroll for what? A seat on your couch for the playoffs.

Get real.....Brantford buys their team but gets 100 fans if that......your philosphy does not work....the Eagles are a tax write off since they are not profitable....how can you possibly be profitable when you pay your players and only recoup $7 x what 40-50 paying fans per game x 24 home games...your NET IN only equates to $6,720..trust me, your EXPSENSES OUT far out weigh any $$ coming in....so, good teams and teams people respect get fans....not teams who are hooligans and pay for idiots....even though they may win the Cup.

NUT doesn't take math at his school. Success stems for successful AND RESPECTED teams who retain fan support. Brantford has no fan support...their success and existance stays so long as their owner has deep pockets....without $$ they have no team since they have no true fans.

It must be tough to play before so few especially when you are a second place team. Say what you want about money. The real thrill comes from winning and the energy you get from the fans.

Obviously ppl who are trashing the Brant crowds have not been to a game since crowds are up. Steadily growing all the time and the season average was up over previous seasons. Played a great brand of hockey, a treat to watch all season.

Buy a team. Start to win. The fans start to come. Fan support = the team flourishes. I don't recall saying that they were turning a financial profit now did I. I said the rich get richer. The more fans you pull the more you can spend on the team. You all who question me are idiots. Idiots that can't even bother and register and own up to your comments.

I was at the last regular season game in Brantford between the Eagles and Hawks. The announced attendance was well over 1,200. ( Actually maybe 400-600) Now let's everybody add.....1+1+1+1=8, oops I mean 1+1+1+1=4 silly people.

if attendance is not posted on the game sheet it's not posted on the web site. Wow. Yet another anonymous post aimed at me. That one really hurt. [/Sarcasm] For future reference though, its mrhockeynut. Hockeynut is a different member of this site. Wouldn't want you attempting to insult the wrong person. Oh yes, about your comment; No sh*t Sherlock. I pointed it out because I found it ironic that the attendance said zero when people were arguing the attendance lower and lower.
