December 16, 2005 Lobsinger Gone Cambridge Winter Hawks announce that goaltender Lucas Lobsinger has left the team to play for the Mississauga Ice Dogs of the OHL.
I'd say it's official

Good for him. It's great for the league and the Hawks for kids to make the jump.

Accorrding to the Rogers broadcast the Ice Dogs want to get him in a game asap so they can kill his scholarship chances and then more than likely he will be sent down to Milton. They are looking down the road to next year and let him and the current Milton goalie fight it out next year.

Hey resort. I find it hard to believe that the Ice Dogs would 'kill a kids scholarship chances' and then demote him.

Welcome to the OHL They do it all the time. They call a kid up to sit on the bench for a game and eliminate the scholarship oppurtunity for the following year. It reduces the kids choices. Fergus, D. Syvret and Foreman all got called up for a game and sat on the bench right around the time US schools were interested in them.

i'm sure the Rogers broadcast said it just like that. It would be suicide for the GM or the team to publicly say they want to kill a kid's chances at a scholarship.

The Rogers broadcast said they wanted Lobsinger to narrow down his choices and by playing a game it would benefit the Ice Dogs next year. Either way you say it the Dogs are playing with his future and have no intentions of him playing this year.
