Who are the best referees and linesman in the midwestern loop and what has to be done to get them at as many junoir b games as possible

Well most officials in the loop leave a lot to be desired. I agree with hockeynut on Stubbs. He is inconsistent at best.

referees in midwest are total crap. they are horrible for most part. Wish we had whole new crop so we could get rid of what we have that referees and linesmen included.

Don't kid yourself, there are some good refs in MWJB League. Guardeirro (sp??) is pretty consistent and communiciates well with the players. There are others out there...

i agree with guardierro being pretty good but he was bad in listowel tuesday, no excuse for the lopsided score tho

If you had a good official, you probably wouldn't know his name by the end of the game, but that's the problem. All the mid-west refs want to be the show. Someone should remind them that the fans are there to see the hockey not the reffing. Then again, I have a couple friends that just like to watch the stripes.

I guess that not knowing who the referee is at the end of the game is a good thing but how will we get the better officials doing the games that matter like games near the end of the year and playoffs....as for linesman, i thought that urbanke was always crap along with shepley, as for good linesman i think the league has a couple....steen, cherrey, galloway, and malott are the best in the league

was at the guelph/cambridge game yesterday, one of the lineys was 18 years old... fight broke out and he couldnt handle the kid fighting, that is pathetic.

i saw that game and he was trying to hold two guys at a time because there was a third man in the fight...how the hell are you supposed to hold to individuals when their adreneline is pumping at full judt after a fight

the third guy tried to get involved because the Guelph player was biting the arm of the Cambridge player that had been jumped from behind.

some refs and lineys are pretty bad but i think we do have some good ones here. fagan, smith, mccreary, bridgeman, faist and cherrey are my fav's but what do i know. schmitt is the worst one though

Schmidt is pretty bad, but Rodgers is the worst IMO. Fagan would be alright if he could keep up with the play.

i agree that schmidt is terrible...but smith,ingalls, and fagan i would are the best and those lineys mentioned above with galloway,steen, and malott added to that list, beatty would be good if he didnt think that he's the f**king show out there

Actually i usually would agree with u about fagan but the game in Waterloo today i thot was one of his better ones. The worst bit of reffing that game was the offisde that was not called that gave Stratford their 3rd goal. Ive been watching hockey for 30 yrs and have yet to see a worse non call. The linesman's last name was long and he had no clue what was going on. Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles would have done a better job on the lines than that incompetant fool. Just a shame that it cost Waterloo the win because they r playing well now.

It is a consensus that officaiting and officials are a problem. Same names every year. I think we need new crop.
Consistency is lacking with all of them. Power trips and singeling out players and calling more severely against those kids. OHA, McCutheon needs to re-vamp. Stripes feel the power in their hands when officiating which they have but like one writer suggested, if you know the name of the official by the end of the game that is pretty bad. It should be very transparent. ;D

There is a need to start to enforce the rules as written in the book. Get rid of the stickwork, and all the obstruction. Then the real players can play. Hey Rudy!
