Waterloo always seems like they're at the top of the league, but a season-opening loss to Guelph raises a lot of questions...
Where will the goals come from?
Who do you like in goal, John Chappell or Colin Way?
Will this coaching staff stick for more than a year?

Siskins signed 5 lines - way to many guys - this team will have trouble gelling as 4 or 5 guys have to sit every night

I agree siskins have to trim the fat a bit but they do have a lot of young guys and coaching staff is trying to figure out where they will fit . Saw game tonight in KItchener and was pleasantly surprised for most part. Scoring wont be a problem, it will be spread out. WOW they really really have to work on defensive coverage and getting puck out of their own end. It was embarassing to watch at times but they showed up with 5 minutes left and pulled it out. With little time they will gel with good new players and be a solid team. Chappelle scares me but played well tonight. Way will have his chances to win starting spot.

kWaterloo is in deep trouble right now...defensively they really struggle from the red line back...giving up too many quality chances and spending time in the box...made Brantford look real good today at times...good thing Brantford played them today and got 2pts.

ur so right. siskins made brantford look like detroit red wings today. was horrible to watch such a mess of a team but i am still hopeful that they will start coming together soon. all around poor effort for a home opener especially so even more people saw them stink the joint out. Has anyone seen Chris Golem? Someone was wearing his jersey today but definitely not playing hockey like he is capable of. He should be dominant this year but instead is invisible .

looks like the Siskins are starting to trim the line-up - selling Landman to Listowel

Golem was the invisible man yesterday, primarily because he does not have the supporting staff he had last year, no one to get him the puck. They are really struggling in their own end and need to find a bluechip defenseman, just like every other team in the league. They also look like a team that's not playing for the new staff or maybe they just have too many guys hanging around on the roster to gel but if they don't fire it up soon they may be on the outside looking in come playoff time.

Chappelle has played solid so far this year and handles the puck probably the best in the league but whether he can play this well the enitire year im not so sure either.

Good effort today. Gave Cambridge all they could handle. Could have easily won if the pp had clicked. Might shape up to be a good playoff if these teams meet, but can the Siskins hold up for a best o seven?

It sounds like it was a close game. If Waterloo continues as they have been, it probably will be a 5 game series against the Hawks.
