the best defenceman doesn`t necessarily have the most points- there + - should be a factor, does a particular def always do the power play?Lots to consider.

Too bad MWJB doesn't have plus-minus.
Actually plus-minus has more to do with how good a team you're on than how good you are at defence.

Swartzentruber and Soehner are plus 16 or 17 and the next guy on the team is plus 8 or around there it will be a battle bewteen the two but in good spirits

SOEHNER IS SOLID, BUT THE SWARTZENTRUBERITE LEAVES SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED. SHOOTS A TON BUT SKATING IS LESS THAN STELLER

He may not be the fastest skater but he'll take the puck from one end of the ice to the other without anyone taking it from him. Even on a small ice surface like Elmira.

but he never scores when he takes the puck from one end to the other... hit the net buddy... swartzy n soehner are the best D in the league though.. keep up to good work boys...

I totally agreewith you those two elmire Ds are a pleasure to watch. I have seen both of them put the black to the back of the net and from way out. Their job however is to make the goalie lazy and they both do that as well as any D in the league.

I would add eckenswiller to that list as well, logs the most minutes in the league probably and has to cuz stratford has crap defence and if eckenswiller made the O this year this team would be hurting right now, he's not their MVP but he's a strong candidate

reggieplaying defence is not all about putting numbers on the board....how about playing DEFENCE....would like to see his+ - because he doen't hold the line very well and is too small to move anyone in front of the net. don't get me wrong..very good offensively, but not very good defensively

Sunday nite in Elmira, brantford vs Kings, I think Swartzy left little doubt who the best defenceman is. Three goals, and kept brantford away from the kings goalie. Who else has a D that has done the same in the last month or two?

Neal scored a nice goal in Stratford last night but he was a minus on the night and looked average at times.

AND HOW DID THEY DO LAST NIGHT AGAINST CAMBRIDGE..SO MUCH FOR THE BEST DEFENCE CORE

It was an all round equal game. Each team was on each other at all times, Cambridge just got a couple lucky breaks. Even though the Cycz lost 5-3...they still put up a good fight. Great job boys! ...And how bout their defence?! ...It was Cody's second game with the Cyclones. Give them a couple more games to play, and defensively, they will dominate. ...like said before, there's skinner, feltz o'hearn and thompson included in the defensive lineup. You can't rely on just one player. It's a team sport. Keep up the Good work boys!
