How do the rookies look?
Will the Sugar Kings need to add more depth to make a run for the Championship?

Yes is the answer. A scoring forward and another goalie is probably on Coach East's shopping list!

That shopping list is a priority for every team in this league, along with a solid d-man.

Hard to say how the rookies look, they get very little ice time. East rolls 3 lines for the most part.

9 you're an idiot, the kings have the two best D-men in the league, they don't need anyone else...

What does the two best D have to do with how the rookies look? No rookies in this league get decent ice time. They ride the pine in PP and MS situations and at best get 5 on 5 action only against the 3rd or 4th lines. So if all the coaches only play their 4th lines 2 times per period (if lucky) you do the math!

lacey played junior last year up north so he's not a rookie to junior hockey, just to the winterhawks.

you are right. Mercer and Zehr played a lot and a lot better in the last game. Too bad to have hurt players but it does afford the rookies the oppertunity toshow their stuff.

Who is Stupid? Mercer is from Hespler and was able to go to any team he desired. He wouldn't have made the strong Hawks team this year. Locke is from Waterloo and he was a player Waterloo owed Cambridge from a trade a few years back. Get your facts straight before you mouth off.

Top Rookie?...Neily dominates the game in Brantford when moved between Johnson and Benesch. He scored, he checked he did it all. Battle of the Rooks goes to him on this nite.

saw the cambridge / elmira game sunday night and i must say that i thought mercer did out play locke and it showed in the icetime they were given, although this si because of injury's it was clear that for a third round draft pick and an undrafted player mercer was clearly the better player between the two out there on this particular night.

K you mu ;Dst have got cut for this kid he has some serious talent and now that east is giving him some ice and powerplay time his play has improved dramatically.
Neilly, buck, and hardy are all 16 yr olds playing on there teams first lines they should have the numbers they have.
mercer has played on the 4 line most of the year and is still putting up some numbers.

mercer stop talking about yourself...your getting ice time cuz dobbie and sharpe are out...b4 that you had like 6 points in 15 games...sure you delivered nicely the last couple of games...but with sharpe and dobbie back in the line up next weekend your gunna get less ice time and have to realize your roll and how the better players will put up the numbers...soon you will realize players get on streaks...dont cry when yours ends next week...buck = rookie of the year

elmira also scored 25+ goals or something and like half those points came against oville so does that even count? He's no where near the best rookie in the league so give it a rest

Who cares, once the vets are back the rookies will get spot duty. It is the way of the world my young apprentice! If you really look hard you'll see what I mean. Everybody has got to pay their dues.
