I am a Thorold fan from the GHL.
Just wondering if there are any live broadcasts out of Cambridge for Tues night Suthy Cup game...with Internet live-streaming
Please post any links you know of.
What are the call letters and radio numbers of the main stations in the Cambridge area...am and fm?
Thanks !!

I don't think pointstreak is set up for the Winterhawks home games. As far as I know there is no live radio broadcasts from this City, it appears as if this city of Cambridge doesn't give a rats behind for any sporting event. Our glorious radio station "Dave FM" only plays music, really imaginative radio wouldn't you think. Years ago when we had a real live radio am station, they did a fair amount of hockey games. Today we have nothing but MUSIC. (Whoopie crap)

Then if there's anyone that's reading this board from Cambridge, they should call the Hawks and let them know that there's a lot of Jr. B fans that can't go to the game that are interested to follow the game on pointstreak.
This is bush!!!
The Thorold Blackhawks Suthy Cup games in the last 5 years were all broadcast by a St. Catharines radio station that had livestreaming on the Internet. I know people as far away as Thunder Bay who listened to those games.

I know Chathams AM station and the local cable TV station both carry their games (only some on TV though). I think this is a great thing that teams can do not only for fans who cant make it to games but more importantly scouts who cant make it to games. Its another way to get the kids names out there where they can be noticed and maybe moved up to a higher level.

I listened to the broadcasts of the Sutherland Cup last year as well, including the round robin with Thorold, Chatham and Listowel. I live in Toronto now, but I'm from the Niagara Region and am there often and follow the Jr B GHL closely. It was on CHSC 1220-AM which is in St. Catharines. The morning show team of Angus Gillespie and Chuck Lafleur did the play-by-play. It was awesome coverage and they even broadcast the series clincher Game 5 in Thorold, because the arena was sold out, so the locals who couldn't get a ticket all got to listen in. Some guy who worked for the Thorold Blackhawks said he was on a cruise in the Caribbean during the finals, and had Internet access and listened on the ship.

wow is that ever great for the thorold blackhawks, all these great stories of losers who have to listen to the suthy cup finals from the carribean and can't wait til they get home. I wonder if the blackhawks winning made his trip that more enjoyable, Jr. B hockey is getting so huge in canada, sooner or later it might be the place to be, let's all grow up a bit, you'll read it in the paper for god sakes

Cambridge did broadcast some games about 7 or 8 years ago, Jeff Hicks was the play by play man. Stratford has had a 30 year tradtion of broadcasting all of their games and some Listy and Owen Sound games were broadcast last year and this. It is good promotion for the teams and league.
