It's very interesting to watch the now fully caged team of SugarKings continue their cheapshot tactics on the ice while smiling behind their shiny new cages. They should feel very tough as they chop, slash, crosscheck, etc. especially after the whistles. I give them a lot of credit for being very talented & very hardworking but their post whistle & behind the play cheap shots are very hard to miss(unless you're the ref). Certainly the Cyclones are no angels but come on CagedKings, cut out the crap or put the visors back on.

management made a decision to force all players to wear cages so there's no chance of them going back to visors, and why are you just noticing this now, they've had the cages on for most of the year

I'd Say because when a visored team plays a caged team its very noticeable, the cheap shots elmira gives actually are felt by listowel's unprotected faces

Hey I thought the visors were a bad idea right from the start. The officiating in the league is weak and does not control the stick work. It is like wearing seatbelts we don't like but we do it!

Seatbelts are the law and in the Midwestern Jr B league the teams were not supposed to have input on the players desicion. However both Stratford and Elmira feel "above" the league and decided to inforce full facial protection for the players, thus giving an unfair advantage (due to cheap shots).

perhaps the kings exec was concerned about the safety of their players witness what happened to sharp broken jaw maybee the other teams dont care about their players or to gutless to make the right decision

It doesn't matter you plug the exec was told to stay out of the way and let the players make their own desicion's. God some people are dumb.

From a teams stand point wearing cages instead of visors is also more econimically sound. Since most teams are on limited budgets it makes "cents". You might see other teams opt for this option next season.

Just so everyone knows, Listowel voted against the visor ruling but followd the league wishes & did not interfere with their players decisions. We as a team are greatly concerned about our players safety & find that it is not so much the protection, but the total lack of respect certain hockey players have for the their opposition. A perfect example of this is observed after most whistles in the SugarKing vs. Cyclones series. I know in Stratford's case, many of the Cullitons did want to wear visors but were not allowed to. I'm guessing that as I watch how the SugarKings cheap shot away, they would most definately prefer to hide behind the mask. Not a slap at Kelly Rhudy(spelling??)

This caged debate is old, the league allows either the visor or cage - if there is an advantage to wearing the cage as so many seem to think then it is obviously a good decision for the teams to wear them and those that don't are putting their players at a disadvantage. In any of the games I have seen this year it seems like the team wearing the visors get away with a lot more when it comes to highsticks or a punch to the screen whereas that same incident happening to a player wearing a visor is called. Bottom line is they are legal piece of equipment and until that is changed this debate will go on and on.

Mr. 2 sense: If you have been paying any attention to the SugarKing/Cyclones series, you would know that your theory on the "getting away with" is totally false & the opposite is true, for whatever reason. Your theory would make sense but isn't happening. This debate to me, isn't so much about the visor or the cage as it is about what the players are doing that wear them. Debate ended. Ct sounds like a very intelligent & well spoken individual who really has a grasp on the issues at hand.

Leaque should take a solid stand on the cage vs. visor option. All teams should be one way or the other when it gets down to protecting the heads of the players. It doesn't take too much to cause some serious problems.

league should do the right thing and ban visors there was nothing wrong with the rules before this season
